So, we decided to bring to you a composite Men's Style Guide, to help you in your next purchase. This guide would help you understand the different kinds of pants and the basic difference in their silhouettes.
Let's start with the most common one's which are the Dress Pants. Dress Pants usually, come in two types. i.e. Pleated and Front Flat:
Pleated Pants: Were hot during the earlier days. They suit men with a thin torso because it gives it a layer. But, for a man with thicker thighs, it was a definite no no as it adds to the bulk. If a person, with a thick torso wants to still go in for the pleated look, then one should not go in for more than two pleats.
Cargo Pants: Flaps on the exterior and Velcro pockets, a very casual look.
People; also tend to be confused when they hear High Rise, Low waist and Low rise too. Very simply, a High Waist Pant, sites on the mid tummy and provides one a sleek, slim and comfortable look. This silhouette is the best for formal occasions. A Low-rise pant will always sit on your lower waistline. Rise, is nothing but the distance measured between the mid crotch to the upper waistline. Thus, shorter people should go in for a High Rise, because it would make them look slim and tall.
